About Backpackers Transport Limited

Backpackers Transport Limited has been an established company since July 2000. Owen and Angela Fraser run Backpackers Transport Ltd. We operate from our home in Auckland and are continually upgrading and growing our business to suit all travelers to New Zealand.

Pricing Stuctures:
We only charge people for what is stated; there are no hidden costs involved. There is the Vehicle Security Deposit (VSD) for the excess, and this is an indent of your credit card and held at the office. Debit cards are not acceptable as VSD, unless the VSD is held in cash. This is held for 28 days after your rental ends and covers traffic fines etc., loss or damage to internal equipment. If there is no damage to the vehicle, this is returned to you.

The excess on the insurance is as follows

Standard Excess for drivers aged 25+ years	NZ $1,500
Standard Excess for drivers aged 21 - 24 years	NZ $2,500
Standard Excess for drivers aged 18 - 20 years	NZ $3,000
Any single vehicle accident, or unsealed road accident	NZ $3,000

For minor damage to the vehile you will not loose your excess; we agree on a price that will cover the costs for the repair of the vehicle. Usually this will be from NZ $400.00, depending on the amount of damage incurred.
