Campervan Rental Terms + Conditions

Conditions of Rental

1. All licences must now have an English Translation to be able to drive in New Zealand. If your Licence hasn’t, you must have an International Drivers Licence.
   
   
2. A full valid car drivers licence is required. Each driver must present a valid licence printed in English or provide a valid International Drivers Licence at time of pick up. The licence will be listed on the rental agreement and photocopied.
   
   
3. Drivers must be over 18yrs with a full drivers licence.
   
   
4. Daily rate includes insurance, unlimited kilometres and GST.
   
   
5. Minimum rental of 7 days.
   
   
6. A Vehicle Security Deposit (VSD) must be paid at the start of each hire. The VDS covers the excess on the insurance. If you choose to half your excess, the VSD will be for the remaining half. If you choose to NIL your excess, the VSD will be for NZ$500.00. The VSD covers traffic fines, internal damage, cleaning, refueling, etc. along with the excess.
   
   
7. Excess is payable from the Vehicle Security Deposit in any event of accident involving another vehicle or property. (The cost of this is dependent on age.)
   
   
8. We are responsible for any mechanical repairs to the vehicle during the hire; all the vehicles have Automobile Breakdown Assistance for the hirer's use in such cases as a breakdown.
   
   
9. Tyres and punctures are the hirer's responsibility. We ask that you repair a puncture as soon as possible so you always have a spare. The vehicles are hired with tyres in good roadworthy condition - if needing a replacement, this is the hirer's responsibility.
   
   
10. All our vehicles are mechanically checked, maintained and certified. They are kept in a safe and roadworthy condition at all times.

Additional Terms

1. The vehicle is to be returned in a clean condition. A cleaning charge may be applied in some circumstances, this being a fee of NZ $50.00
   
   
2. The chemical toilet must be emptied before the return of the vehicle. A fee of NZ $100.00 will be incurred if it has any waste in it.
   
   
3. LPG bottles are to be returned full, there will be a small fee of NZ $10.00 for the Small Bottle 1.5 – 4kg to be refilled and a fee of NZ $30.00 for the Larger Bottle 5 – 20kg to be refilled.
   
   
4. These fees, if necessary, will be deducted from the Vehicle Security Deposit before refunding.
   
   
5. Unfortunately, due to excessive fees from Amex, we will charge an additional 4% on any transaction taken with these credit cards.

Cancellation Policy


If the booking is cancelled the following rates apply:

There is no refund if the vehicle is returned early.

Insurance

Excess Reductions:

Ins. 1: NZ $10.00 per day lowers the excess by half
eg NZ$1000 excess is lowered to NZ$500 excess, and the NZ$1500 excess is lowered to NZ$750.

Ins. 2: NZ $20.00 per day lowers the excess to nil.

For minor damage to the vehicle, you will not loose your excess; we agree on a price that will cover the costs for the repair of the vehicle. Usually this will be from NZ $400.00, depending on the amount of damage incurred.
